The challenge, as it was set out before the ride
On Friday 14th August 2026, David took on an epic 90-mile cycling challenge, riding from Elgin to Dornoch through some of the most scenic parts of the Scottish Highlands.
The Route
Elgin → Forres → Nairn → Inverness → Black Isle → Cromarty ferry → Tain → Dornoch
The Rules
Supporters predicted how long David would spend in the saddle. His total ride time was expected to be between 6 and 9 hours — but there was a catch: only time actually cycling counted. Coffee stops and the Cromarty ferry crossing were excluded from the official time.
How to Win
The supporter whose prediction came closest without going over won the prize. Each prediction slot could only be chosen once, so supporters had to pick their time strategically. All 361 slots sold, and the winning prediction was 06:32:00.
